Alex and Michael Woodbury

Woodbury Inspection Group Inc. is fully insured carrying both Errors and Omissions, and General Liability coverage. We currently average over 1000 residential inspections a year and have performed nearly 12000 residential and commercial inspections to date in the State of Hawaii. We are trusted and respected for our knowledge, thorough property assessments, and succinct understandable reporting. Woodbury Inspection Group Inc. has over 40 years of combined construction and inspection experience here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our history and expertise allows us to provide a unique area specific approach to inspection. Our equipment, training and experience place us in an entirely different league than the average building inspector. We have an intimate knowledge of those conditions unique to Hawaii and how those conditions affect properties and structures, as well as knowledge of local and national building, fire, earthquake, and safety codes and requirements.

Michael Woodbury Founder and president of Woodbury Home Inspection Service Inc. entered into a formal carpentry apprenticeship program in 1968. He is a licensed general contractor In Hawaii and has been building on the big island since 1979. (Prior Original Hawaii License #BC-12448).

Alex Woodbury has spent nearly 15 years in the building trades working both for Woodbury Building and Construction, and other contractors, including several fine woodworkers in the Pacific North West. He currently builds for himself in West Hawaii and enjoys fine woodworking. Alex provides consultation on cutting edge building science techniques and product specification for new construction and incremental construction inspection for a variety of clientele. He is currently pursuing certification as a Leed Green Building Consultant. He is a nationally certified thermographer, a project representative for FLIR Systems, and uses an infrared camera to assess AC efficiency, moisture problems, and resistance issues in electrical circuitry. Alex is a graduate of HPA Academy in Waimea and Western Washington University with degrees in Anthropology and Psychology. Alex is presently the Hawaii State Chapter President of the American Society of Home Inspectors.

The American Society of Home Inspectors, it is the oldest, largest, most respected and most recognized in the industry. The American Society of Home Inspectors is a not for profit organization whose goal is to protect and educate the consumer. Our inspectors adhere to its Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, which are by far the most stringent in the industry.

We cover the entire Island of Hawaii and in certain circumstances travel to the other islands.
